In this passage, Paul draws our attention to the immeasurable greatness of God’s power at work for those who believe. He points us to the clearest display of that power: the Father raising Christ from the dead and seating Him at His right hand in the heavenly places. This is not abstract power, but real, effective power revealed in history and exercised with purpose.
Paul then shows us that the exalted Christ now reigns with all authority, far above every rule and power. Yet His authority is not distant or detached from His people. God has given Christ as head over all things to the church, uniting us to Him as His body. Our life, security, and growth flow from this union. The power that raised and exalted Christ is the same power by which He sustains His church, reminding us that our confidence rests not in ourselves, but in Christ who reigns and fills all in all.
