Ephesians 1:15-16 Simplicity of the Christian Walk

In Ephesians 1:15–23 (Part 1), Paul shows us the simplicity of the Christian walk. Having just described the riches of salvation in Christ, he turns to prayer—and the first thing that marks his prayer is thanksgiving.

Paul thanks God for two key evidences of true Christian life: faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and love for all the saints. These are not merely initial signs of conversion, but ongoing realities that shape the believer’s daily walk. Faith is lived out in continual dependence on Christ, and love is expressed in sacrificial service toward God’s people.

This passage invites us to examine our own lives. Are we walking by faith in Christ? Is that faith producing love for others? And are we thanking God when we see these marks of grace at work in His church?
