In this message from Ephesians 1:8b–10, we continue exploring our identity and blessing in Christ by focusing on the mystery God has revealed. Following last week’s teaching on redemption through the blood of Christ, Paul now draws our attention to God’s wisdom and insight in making known His gracious plan.
This mystery—once hidden but now revealed—was disclosed according to God’s good pleasure and in His perfect timing. It centres on Christ and God’s purpose to unite all things in Him. Paul reminds us that true understanding of these truths does not come through knowledge alone, but through God opening our minds as we diligently read, wrestle with Scripture, and pray.
This passage calls us to marvel at God’s sovereign plan, His delight in revealing it, and the central place of Christ in bringing unity where sin has brought division.
